about denver xeriscaping

Here at Denver Xeriscaping, Joe Hendricks continues his passion of helping homeowners improve the beauty and livability of their yards.  Joe has been a long-time fixture in the Greater Denver area installing and repairing lawn sprinkler systems.  Because of the recent push to water conservation efforts by Denver and the surrounding communities, Joe is now also in the Xeriscaping business.

Joe Hendricks, the former trick-rider, set a world record in 1982 by jumping over seven cars in the parking lot at the old Mile High Stadium for the national tv show “That’s Incredible” That launched his career as “Jumpin’ Joe Hendricks,” which landed him freestyle bicycle trick riding shows across the world, including at the NBA All-Star Game halftime show. Soon there after there were TV commercials and a signature series of bicycles. Joe also appeared in the motion picture “Quicksilver ” with Kevin Bacon doing bicycle stunts.

Joes’ favorite activity now is riding his bike with his three dogs all over town on a Saturday or Sunday afternoon.

From the Channel 31 interview with Joe:  If you’ve spent much time outdoors in the Mile High City, chances are you’ve seen Joe Hendricks. His elaborate contraption allows him to cruise through Denver with his four dogs in tow, music blaring, as he passes by. “I just play music that everyone can sing to,” said Hendricks. “Everyone loves the dogs, and it just creates a whole lot of smiles as I’m rolling through Denver.”

“Oh my gosh, did you just see that guy go by?!” exclaimed one woman at Commons Park. Those reactions are the norm for Joe, now in his twelfth year cruising the streets.

Joe usually pulls two trailers, one with Harvey and one with Moose. Charlie and Rafael both have baskets of their own to sit in, and all four dogs are secured with harnesses.  “The dogs love it,” he said. “They can’t wait to jump into their spots and roll. They know how to lean with me, they can hang a turn with the best of them.”

“To create so many smiles is such a great thing,” Hendricks said.  Jumpin’ Joe typically rides on Saturdays and Sundays, cruising from North Denver through downtown and sometimes all the way to Washington Park.

Now in his 50’s, Hendricks is a DJ and a competitive tennis player. He hosts regular workouts at Red Rock,  www.ItBurnsJoeFitness.com the biggest bootcamp in the world with hundreds of thousands attending his free bootcamp over the year, with no intentions of slowing down. And when he’s not “working crowds” you will find him at his contracting businesses – Sprinklersolutionscolorado.com or  Denverxeriscaping.com – helping people beautify their yards.

Joe and his crew would like to work with you on all of your yard needs.  They will help you if you need trees planted or removed, sprinkler systems upgraded or want to convert your yard to a water conserving xeriscape.
